Bagot Opticians

After a woolly and unusual image floated into my left eye today I contacted Bagot's Opticians in Windermere and was treated, at very short notice, to one of the most thorough examinations I have ever had by an extremely pleasant lady called Roopa. The amazing pictures of my retina resembled Mars, the Red Planet!! I cannot thank receptionist Karen and specialist partner Roopa enough for re-arranging the daily schedule to fit me in for a same-day appointment. So refreshing to experience such service these days.

Just received my new RayBan spectacles and I am delighted. The eyetest was very comprehensive including an amazing scan that showed all the blood vessels at the back of my eye. The vision through the varifocals is spot on and they are so light compared to my previous pair from another opticians. A good job all round.

The initial consultation and eye test was thorough, some of the staff were pleasant. Had to ring and push to have glasses ready for promised date, woman who dealt with at this point was an absolute jobsworth, wanted to initially make me wait a few days longer till I pushed for promised scheduled day, even childish insulting saying I have 'a very round face' when everyone else said I had high cheekbones, not round face and had chosen frames well. The lenses themselves are fine for my needs but of very poor quality, smudge and steam up and smear easily, have to take them off every ten minutes to wipe clean, lenses alone cost over 130 and are just not good quality. Entire glasses totalled 500 with frames and test. As I said, rest of staff were ok, this one receptionist at front of desk very officious and snide. Apparently you can only return or have glasses changed if either they don't fit or are not right for your eyes sight. It isn't normal to be having to wipe lenses clean so often. Very over-rated company, but too proud if themselves.
