In December 2017 I have had the opportunity to participate to the Meeting Skills for European Supervisors training session held for three days by John. The course was organized in a way to first provide theoretical insights/concepts, to be thereafter applied to real cases replicating everyday circumstances of professional relations. Concepts and situations/cases were provided in a way to gradually increase their complexity, so to facilitate trainees in interiorizing them. In a nutshell, what has been immediately clear was the passion and the extreme knowledge of the trainer, as well as his ability in transferring concepts that in most cases were new for trainees. What I brought home has been the will to continue to apply what I learned not only to work situations, but also in private ones. At the beginning it has been a bit hard, but once the application became in a sense automatic, I have started to approach to professional relationships in a different way and, more importantly, to take control of the different stages of the relationships/conversations I am involved in.

Very well structured presentation of the subject theory. Challenging case studies that allow participants to see how they can apply theory in practice.
