Astanga Yoga Here

I started practicing with Roberta at Astanga Yoga Here in lockdown when the Saturday led class was the highlight of my week. Transitioning to the warm light filled Shala has been a joy. My practice is blossoming in ways I didnt believe were possible under Robertas guidance. Roberta is a fantastic teacher, wise and gentle with a sense of humour. AYH is a very special place to practice.

Having attended ashtanga studio classes before I was keen to find a class that taught the traditional Mysore style. I hit barriers trying to practice the Primary Series at home that I knew I wouldn't be able to get past alone. I got lucky finding Roberta Giannotti's classes, not only because she knows the practice so thoroughly and has a long history with studying and teaching it, but because her approach is very friendly, non-dogmatic and down-to-earth. One of the best classes I've been to in ages. Lots of positive reinforcement, challenging in a good way and again, warm welcoming vibe. Oh, and beginner's package of 25 for 5 classes is incredibly great value, especially given the level of teaching on offer.

Astanga Yoga Here is such a wonderful and peaceful space to practise yoga in. Roberta is a very special teacher; not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, she is so patient and has and a wonderful sense of humour. I feel comfortable and reassured on the mat, after having been out of practice for several years. I am very grateful to have found Roberta and Astanga Yoga Here and look forward to developing my yoga practice here. Thank you!

I connected with Roberta during lockdown via her online classes. Her calm, kind, understanding energy coupled with skilled observations and suggestions enable me to go deeper, and wanting to keep showing up for my practice. This wealth of experience and authenticity can be hard to find these days in the yoga world, very happy to have found her!

Lovely light-filled welcoming space . Teacher Roberta is THE most knowledgeable and experienced Astanga teacher in London. Roberta learned in Mysore India from the Grandfather of Ashtanga Yoga, the late Sri Pattabhi Jois so she is the REAL DEAL if you want to learn proper yoga to last you a lifetime and keep you well in body and mind. Highly recommended
