Dr Heskel Kateb

Been seeing Dr Kateb for a few years now. Always had a positive experience and found him to be personable and professional. The other reviews here, do not mirror my experience and I will not hesitate to continue making appointments here.

I have been a patient at this surgery for over 20 years and met all the receptionists that have come and gone and they have all been lovely. The receptionists that are there currently are probably the worst I have ever come across in my life. They are both very unprofessional and very disrespectful. Their manner over the phone and face to face is absolutely appalling.

I have arrived to London in December 1998 from Iraq. I was a young 22 years old Iraqi. I have registered at the Tufnell Park Surgery b cause I heard there is an Iraqi Doctor. Dr Kateb. Dr Kateb made my experience one of the worse. He never tried to speak in Arabic to help me understand what was wrong with me nor with my daughter. I did beg him to speak in Arabic to help me but to no avail. He was unsupportive at all. I remember my daughter first immunatization, he did hold two injections in his hand and did I just her at once. I was petrified and nearly fainted. He never bothered telling me what will happen. Leaving a torn country to start a family with a man I barely know is not a very positive for a young girl and and Dr Kateb made sure I dread coming to his surgery. I begg d him to write th condition or any medical issue on a paper so I can investigate further using a dictionary yet he has always declined. At that time I switched to attend his partner Dr Rose who was very supportive and helpful. Although I have a degree in Chemical Eng and in 2003 I have studied and attained an Msc but there are medics terms that I won't know and Dr Rose helped me by writing them and this has improved my experience and self confidence. This experience made me very supportive of refugees and immigrants. I work in education and this involve helping people to settle and feel supportive and I made this my mission I have always wanted to complain about Dr Al Kate's to ensure no one suffer at his hand
