Another beautiful Church in this country of ours very picturesque . This particular Church was dedicated to St Andrew in 1331 by one Hamo Bishop of Rochester Cathedral which is also dedicated to St Andrew and is fantastic also . The Bernard family acquired the Manor of Isleham in King John's reign some remnants of their original stone church are still visible . The tomb of Sir Gilbert Bernard is apparently sporting a very fashionable haircut with shoulder length curls popular during Edward the 111 reign . Just one more reason to thank God your alive today and not in the 1300s . There are some amazing carved angels on the wooden ceiling and a pair of binoculars are there so you can get a closer look . The two very impressive and colourful tombs belong to belong to members of the Peyton family . It was in 1430 that Margaret the last of the Bernard's married one Thomas Peyton . Surprisingly they still look very grand to this day . In the 17th century many of the family left for America and hopefully a better life . To this day there is still a Peyton Society of Virginia and supposedly said Society still supports this amazing Church today . That is cool in my humble opinion .
