Golden Valley

Awful experience, we reminded a van travelling at 20mph that it was a 5 mph speed limit on site as we were walking round with the kids and dogs. At which he got out his van swearing aggressively that it's his site I said still don't give you the right to fly round as there was a potential for a nasty accident. He said he didn't care and asked me to leave the site which we did, we will never go to there ever again. I asked the lady in the office what his problem was, and she said he's always like that.

Difficult to find. Was not informed to ignore sat nav because it takes you through a private road & wrong way down a lane. Place takes money in advance over phone & then gives barrier code. Unlevel pitches & very crowded. Clean & warm toilets & showers. Family orientated site, so not suited for those who like peace & quiet.

We have been to this site quite a few times in the past and always had enjoyable time. However on our last visit we were utterly shocked with the language and behaviour of the site owner. Myself, my partner, my 10 year old daughter, her friend and our 2 dogs were out walking around the site, when a chap in a van comes speeding up the hill my partner raised is hand to tell him to slow down thats all he did and the site owner drove fast back down the hill got out is van started shouting and swearing (in front of the children) and told us we had till Midday to get of his site and this was at 10.45am. We were shocked how he treats his customers. he issued us a refund as we still had a night stay to go. I can honestly say we would never again visit this site. We didnt deserve to be spoken to like this and the children shouldnt of heard the language he was using.

Be aware satnav insisted on taking us through private police training roads. I have reported this. Just a brief stay, a bit late due to dusk. It's OK if you want a full facility site and suited us as a short visit for recharging batteries, emptying loo and showering. I wouldn't fancy being here peak season unless you like a VERY busy place
