Total disrespectful They could not even be bothered to roll up the flag at half mast at there new all singing and dancing Princes street station on the sad passing of our late monarch pics to go on social media of a dated and timed flag pole with nothing on it, What a complete waste of time you call them, and after nearly half an hour of being told your a priority list they hang up there end without even picking up the phone I am old enough to remember when if you called the Police they would answer the phone and sort the problem. I am far from anti Police its just that they fail the public so often

I consider myself to be a law abiding citizen! However, one day in 1994/5, I visited my former school (then called) Woolverstone Hall school for boys, now called Ipswich High school. Before leaving for Suffolk from Greater London, I wasn't planning to do the trip as my car tax was expired and I was administering another as the MOT was valid etc. However, a former school pear begged me to go with another former school friend. I was defiant but as I enjoy driving, I caved into pressure and decided to do the trip thinking that I will by a tax disc covering the period (which I did after being charged). When I collected my former friend, he held a tax disc for another vehicle. And put it in the windscreen. I said move it! He refused and I iterated and reiterated my demand for him to remove it as I am not that way inclined (not dishonest). He refused. I grabbed the disc and through it out of the car. He picked it up and said that it belongs to him and that if anything is going to happen, he will say that it is him. When we arrived in Ipswich (following tourism of Woolverstone and the old school grounds), I parked the car near Tower Ramparts car park. I asked for my former friend to remove the disc but he reminded me that he will explain its his. Later, when we returned to my car, I spotted a policeman checking vehicles tax discs etc. I looked at my former friend expecting him to explain why it was there, but the policeman (rightly) asked who's car this belongs too and I gave my name and he run checks. He then said that this disc is not for your vehicle therefore I am arresting you for fraudulent use of a tax disc, you do not have to say anything....... I was embarrassed and furious as I felt that my former school friend's (between them) deliberately set up the visit and the disc to purposely get me in trouble. He tried to argue and I believe he too was arrested for affray or something. I was charged and taken to the court and convicted for 'Fraudulent use of a tax disc' I was fined and received penalty points on my license. I was treated well. But I expected the police and judge to ask me what happened or why it happened, but I was not given the opportunity to do this. Had I been given the opportunity I would have explained (as above!) I am really sorry about this incident and It will NEVER happen again! Sorry to the Police and Court!
