Great coffee at a nice price, friendly staff and a nice place to sit and enjoy the architecture. Have yet to witness and live music in there but there is a stage and event rooms you can book out I believe.

The remarkable aspect about the siting of this church is it's close vicinity to neighbouring St. Peter-at-the-Quay, so nearby their shadows might touch. St. Mary-at-the-Dock looks so alike its near neighbour, it feels like suffering double vision to have 2 such similar looking churches, sited side-by-side. The elaborate wrought iron tracery above the main gates bears the cypher 'SM', in recognition that this is one of 4 of the medieval Ipswich churches originally named in honour of St. Mary. As with St. Peter's, it's difficult to appreciate a proper view of this, one of the 12 medieval Ipswich town centre churches, due to its location on the no-mans-land 1-way system traffic island. The barren land between the pair of them was once occupied by the Priory, now only marked by Wolsey's Gate. St. Mary's, alike St. Peter's, has latterly been converted for other than ecclesiastical use.
