The Engine Shed at Battersby

Stumbled across this place Instagram and WOW! Absolute bliss, the space has been so well thought through and every detail was amazing. The pictures so not do it justice at all. It's so peaceful. Loved the wood fired hot tub and the breakfast hamper is a must (so worth the 20 extra!). Jen the host was so friendly and went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Perfect for a couple looking for a little break.

The accommodation was beautifully decorated, had everything you needed and was a lovely unique place to stay. It felt very secluded although you're not too far from the nearest village, which is about a 5-10 minute walk down the road. There's no signal or TV down in the shed but it was nice to escape for a few days! The owners are lovely and friendly, and will help you with anything you need. Booking through bookings.com we didn't receive much information about what was in the shed (pots, pans, sponges washing up liquid etc.) so we took too much, but if you book directly through them I believe they would give you all of this information, and would send you any information you needed at your request. There were 2 double bunk beds which were very comfortable and cosy, however there were no ladders to get up to the top bunk, you'd have to use a stool which is fine but would be difficult if you have bad knees! The garden was enclosed so it was perfect for our collie, he could explore the garden while we relaxed in the hot tub. You receive 1 bag of logs which you can use for the tub or the log fire in the shed. Perfect holiday for a quiet and peaceful time away. Would 100% recommend.
