This is a shining gem of cuisine nestled in picturesque Ilminster. The chef is very personable and knowledgeable, with a great enthusiasm for sharing the origins and decisions behind the menu and ensuring that you enjoy the dining experience. The dining area is cosy and has a lovely view onto the open area just outside. It's clear that care and attention has gone into every aspect of the experience, and they do read your dietary requirements from the online booking form (sadly a rarity in some places). The cheeseboard is highly recommended - dont miss out! If you're driving, it can be hard to decide where to park - there is nearby on street parking, but I recommend the car park on Orchard Vale, with a nice walk up by the church.

Life affirming food. Bumped in to the chef outside who upsold us on the possibilities of a joyful and wonderous life, after a few too many cocktails at Temperley, and we were not disappointed. The food is great and surprising, the starters and mains were amazing and dessert wise what was that cheese!? Serious tell me, what was that wild cheese, you know the one. Go here, eat well, have the cheese board, comment here with what that cheese was.

Fantastic. Really tasty food, well presented and portioned...just right that after 3 courses we were full, but neither were we completely stuffed. So glad that ilminster has a more than just take-away food places. Forget going to Taunton or Yeovil, just come here, you won't regret it.

This was our first night out since moving to the area and I think we could have found our favourite restaurant! Beautiful setting, amazing food and good service, its so nice when the chef comes outs and has a chat. We cant believe they change the menu every day and credit to them for doing so. Only advice would be try and save room for the cheese board.

What a find this place was. We stopped for lunch on our way back from a holiday and I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences Ive had in recent memory. Aside from the excellent food (scallops, mozzarella & bresaola, sirloin steak, orange/almond cake), the dining room itself is delightfully done out and the staff very hospitable and friendly. Alex came out from the kitchen to talk us through one of his dishes and pass on useful tips for peeling garlic (one I wish Id heard twenty years ago!). Very highly recommended.
