Nice location and size, but In desperate need of decorating and maintenance. Shower tray bends in the middle, thought the thing was going to collapse (I'm only 79kg!) A pipe coming from the flat above randomly discharges water into a bucket in the kitchen? TV remotes didn't work. WiFi constantly dropped out and worked at a snails pace the few times connection held. Kettle is minging. Driveway makes Everest look tame and the surface is terrible, mind your wheels in the potholes. Ilfracombe is nice. Even in December we managed to get out for a walk down the beach, only took about 15mins to walk. Lidl is 5min walk away.

Our first and hopefully last air bnb disappointment. I had to contact them the night before our arrival for the full address info. We were not happy with the accommodation and left a day earlier than scheduled due to a series of problems as the days went by. The hot tub was unusable despite being advised it was fine to use. The terrace was not in a good condition, the furniture cushions were extremely dirty. This was disappointing as the outside space was the main reason we booked the apartment. It is clear that the property is in need of maintenance. There is damp, the bathroom is in need of a refit (mold on the tiles and really bad smell of sewage). There is a metallic taste to the water. There is also a plastic pipe running into a mop bucket in the kitchen as a run off for the boiler in the flat above which we contacted them about on our 2nd or 3rd day. We had to empty this out to prevent it overflowing. On the final night we stayed there was a lot of noise from what sounded like a large group upstairs and outside til after 3am. We woke to no hot water on the final morning and decided enough was enough and we moved on. The host wouldn't consider our request for a partial refund as we sought advice from air bnb before contacting her directly rather than contacting her during our stay (although we did make contact twice: about towels which is also when we asked about the hot tub and the second time about the water coming from the pipe). There are no quick fixes to the problems we experienced and can only hope that they take note and make improvements to the property for future guests. It's attention to detail and the extra little touches that make a holiday home great! Ilfracombe itself is lovely.. The restaurants and bars were all fantastic, service excellent! We enjoyed a walk to Lee Bay, a boat trip from the harbour on the 'Ilfracombe Princess', and exploring the surrounding area.
