i phoned to make a reservation for 5 days Monday - Friday end of July apron speaking to the host i was told that only Monday till Thursday was available. Apron reading reviews i decided to book the 4 days for myself and my partner. I booked a 4 poster double bed room and was very much looking forward to our stay. We arrived on the Monday afternoon where we were met by the host who wanted payment straight away with the full amount then we were then presented with room key. The host said " i will see you in the morning for breakfast " apron which we proceeded 4 flights of stairs to the top of the house (NO LIFT) i feel that this should be added to the description and detailed on the acorn lodge booking form especially for people who have mobility issues. The 4 poster bed was the best thing about the whole stay, the bathroom was not big enough to swing a cat in very cramped and the wallpaper dcor was outdated. The next morning we proceeded down for breakfast which was another flight of stairs down to the dinning area apron we were greeted by a shocked look from female member of staff who then told us to help ourselves to toast cereal and friut juice. I went to help myself to a bowl of cereal when the host suddenly appeared and said " oh you have changed your mind have you" I said " no its on our paperwork that we have paid for breakfast therefore it is included. The host continued in front of other guests to repeatedly say, no you chose the cheap option (I do not find 312.50 a cheap option). He then said that we would probably find Wetherspoons breakfast much cheaper. At this we left the dining room immediately and sat on the chair in the hallway absaloutly disgusted and shocked of our treatment. We did go to Wetherspoons for our breakfast and halfway through eating our breakfast my mobile rang and apron answering it was the host from Acorn Lodge apologizing and saying he had got us mixed up with another guest and that he would refund 10 for our breakfast and asked if we would like breakfast on the Wednesday Morning. To this we agreed i feel anybody can make a mistake and therefore there should be given another chance. If only that was the end of it but no We packed our bags early Thursday morning ready to checkout at 10am at 09.30am my phone rang and it was the host asking if we were going down for breakfast upon which i stated that we had to be out for 10am, the host then said "no you can stay until tomorrow Friday. If you remember when i booked i was told Monday to Thursday availability only and that i would have to vacate on the Thursday. Myself and my partner were just mystified and puzzled and just wanted to leave FAWLTY TOWERS LOL. If you are going to stay here double check and double check again what you are acutely paying for, what is and what is not included and double check your booking dates.
