I bought two jellies -- chilli and summer fruits -- from Churchview Farm at the Thursday farmer's market at the University of London. I was hopeful but not expectant. But, the jellies are wonderful. The summer fruits bursts with flavour. It has the perfect balance. No one fruit overcomes another. I bought the Summer fruits for my partner, but I'm hoarding it. It's all mine (until I can buy more). The chilli was a delight too. When asked to describe the Chilli jelly, the proprietor quickly offered "Oh, it's hot!" A blend of heat and sweetness that again is perfect (for me -- the chilli might be a bit hot for some, though it's not Naga or Scotch Bonnet hot); the chillis are demanding but not excessively. The proprietor was also selling flowers at the UoL Farmers' Market. Probably a difficult sell for any university market. I didn't buy any, but the flowers were full and lovely. Had this not been her first visit to this market, had she only been here a week earlier for graduation, she would have made a fortune over the rather dull bouquets that seemed to have been the rage this year. Churchview Farm deserve your attention.
