The Old Northcote Arms is an absolutely wonderful holiday cottage, equipped with everything you could possibly want and need. The whole house is furnished beautifully and the view of Dartmoor from the cosy living room is absolutely stunning. An amazing spot to curl up and enjoy a book! We enjoyed some of the particularly thoughtful touches, such as the luxurious Baavet bedding! The location is fantastic and the owner has plenty of suggestions of places to explore as well as walks to go on from the front door. We enjoyed a trip to the coast, walking along the South West Coast Path, as well as taking in the beautiful quiet countryside surrounding the village. We can't recommend this place highly enough and hope to go back soon!

We had a lovely stay at The Old Northcote Arms. The cottage is just beautiful, both inside and out, and the surrounding area is idyllic. There is plenty of space to make yourself feel at home and we were very comfortable. The cottage is well equipped with everything you might need, including a highchair, changing mat, stair gates and travel cot. The WiFi connection was excellent and I was able to do some work from there with no problem. There are plenty of things to do within a short drive - War Horse Valley Farm is well worth a visit - but it's also really nice just to spend time relaxing at the cottage. Iddesleigh is a very peaceful village and it's fantastic to have the lovely Duke Of York pub on the doorstep.

What can I say about this beautiful cottage. It feels like youre stepping into the past when you walk through the ancient oak door and along the flagstones throughout the house. I want it to live in it! It is beautifully and simply decorated. It is very comfortable and cosy. A mix of new and old but the new is just a helpful addition and doesnt detract in any way. All the interiors and furnishings compliment the building. The kitchen has everything you need, although I would add a dishcloth hook and a shelf in the shower, otherwise it pretty much had everything we needed. Fabulous flagstones in the welcoming hallway but even more, everyones favourite room was the dining room with its original fireplace with wood burning fire, bread oven, beams, big old family friendly dining table. It was definitely the room we spent most of our time in. I slept in the main bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable, with a warm, sheets wool duvet. You need the warm duvet because it is an old house! We didnt realise we were the first guests to stay and I have to say, it was an honour. Very special. We particularly loved our basket of goodies when we arrived - gorgeous honey hand wax, lip balm, soap and best of all, truly delicious champagne!! Very nice touch! We would most definitely go back again. It is a wonderful, peaceful, escape in a truly lovely, hobbity village, filled with thatched roof houses, friendly neighbours, especially the egg lady at the top of the hill and a fab local pub.
