    I got my two new pairs of glasses today, reading and distance. They fit me well and I can see much better. Now I'll explain the reason for my poor rating. 1. They ask you to wear a mask while in the shop which I totally agree due to the current situation. The thing is when the practitioner, Mr Dhariwal in this case, closes the door to check your eyes he says "You can take your mask off if you want" NO THANK YOU, you're not wearing any. I must say that when he is taking your eye blood pressure with the air gun his face is one inch away from yours so you can feel his breath. Very safe Indeed. 2. After paying over 400 in advance for two pairs of glasses and 30 for sight test I asked whether the could give me my PD (pulary distance) which was taken at the moment of ordering the glasses. The reason is because my employer will provide me safety prescription glasses but I do need to give them a prescription. Apparently my employer order those glasses online therefore the PD is needed. Well, Dawkins & Lodge Opticians said NO, we are not giving you that measurement. I asked why and the answer was " We have not been at university for three years to give the PD to an online retailer" I've done some research and by law it's not mandatory for them to give you the PD, in my opinion it should not be like that as it's a personal detail and I have paid 30 for the test. What makes me angry the most is that they are very condescendent to you. What have I learned? Not paying the full amount in advance anymore. They can take my family's name off their books for good.

    Booked an appointment over a month ago only to have it cancelled with less than 24 hours to go. Add insult to injury no priority, to fit me in .Told next appt in July . Appalling customer service and attitude

    I have been going to Dawkins and Lodge for many years, initially for contact lenses and now for spectacles. In my early contact lenses days I used to buy the lenses in the USA and just visit for checkups (D&L made very little from me). Now I have a very complex prescription and it took a while to find frames which could cope. In all of these years I have had nothing but patience, kindness, understanding and help from Nigel and his staff. On at least one occasion Nigel put himself out to get me sorted - something I would never have got from one of the big chains. Well done.
