Last week I booked in an appointment to get full head highlights. I had been to this place before and was happy with the results. This time it was very different. I arrived on time but was told to wait 10 minutes. After 10 minutes it was wait another 10 minutes and had to wait a total of 45 minutes. According to the receptionist it was Treatwell's fault and I should have booked directly to avoid this (it is the first time in 6 years of using Treatwell that I hear this). When I sat in the chair, the very junior hairdresser (it was her first day) wasn't sure about the procedure and asked for help (not a problem in itself) but only got help from another junior as there was no senior around. In the end I, the client who has no experience at all, gave some instructions based on my previous highlight sessions. I mentioned a couple of time that the bleach was in my hair for a pretty long time but they were still putting highlights in another part of my hair so didn't pay much attention to the hair that already has been highlighted. In the end the bleach was in my hair for about 2 (!) hours. This is way too long and can break and damage hair. Especially my thin hair so I was and am still worried that my hair will break easily. I also experienced red itchy skin. Washing of my hair was done with cold water only. After the bleach the juniors didn't know when to put toner in my hair so I explained that as well. Because of the long wait and all the insecurities the juniors had the appointment already took 4 hours at this point instead of 2 and a bit and I had to leave with wet hair. At every single step in the process, things went wrong and as a client felt I had to calm the juniors and explain what to do. This is not how it should be. When the owner arrived he immediately denied my suggestions about having a senior around, he said it was fine to have bleach in your hair for 2 hours (my skin was red and irritated but he didn't want to have a look), acted arrogant and tried to put me down. After that he walked away and never came back leaving everyone apologising to me and telling me I should get a refund. I was feeling sorry for the staff that works in this unsupportive situation. Hope it will improve.
