Brighton Road Recording Studios

A great place to record at with the very talented Jake Skinner. A very relaxed atmosphere, very well equipped and an excellent sounding live room. The studio is also in a nice rural location. I have recorded here several times and have always attained great results. Highly recommended for any style of music. We've just recorded here in the last month and will be back again in the new year. I can't wait!

We recently recorded an album here with a 6-piece jazz/funk/blues band and were delighted with both the experience and the results. The live room and adjoining space enabled us to play live, but with enough separation between the drums and sax/vocals to allow us to drop in alternate takes when necessary. Jakes relaxed but meticulous approach enabled a session that was relaxed, creative, productive and thoroughly enjoyable. Throughout the session he gave sound advice when asked and was always keen to understand and respect our vision for the project. The final results captured that vision, but surpassed our expectations. Thoroughly recommended and were looking forward to recording here again with another project later this year.

We gave my 18 year old son a voucher for a 3 hour recording session with Jake. Sam said it was one of the best experiences he has ever had. Jake took such care to ensure Sam achieved the sound that he wanted and he was so delighted with the end result. We look forward to coming to the studio again.

3rd album nearly completed having already recorded last 2 previously here (all 3 with distinctively different bands) after many experiences elsewhere. After 35+ years of this nonsense I have found home. Gawd bless ya Ali

Our second time recording at BRRS. It's a great space with a great sound and a good, chilled atmosphere. It's a real pleasure working with Jake too. He has a very professional attitude and really knows his stuff. We recorded our drum tracks which sound amazing, very punchy and phat. Mic placement is so important for a great sound and Jake nailed it. Definitely recommended. Rosie the dog is very sweet too, very friendly and chilled :-)
