Not to be mistaken with other Yew Tree Cottage Camping sites elsewhere in the UK. One of the 5 star reviews mentions excellent facilities so it cannot be this site as it doesnt actually have any facilities. Just posting my review so others know what to expect. This isnt a campsite, its a field attached to a house with a gate to let yourself in, with electric hookup down one side. Unfortunately the electric hookups run along the edge of the wire fence and directly the other side is a fast main road. We had 1 campervan and 1 four man tent in our group. We felt it too unsafe to pitch a tent right on top of a fast main road, plus the pollution and noise. The rest of the small field was left wild and un-cut and pitching a tent away from the campervan wasnt what we wanted and was unappealing as it was very overgrown. This site would be fine for caravans and campervans if youre not looking for somewhere quiet or scenic, and if not worried about the road. It would definitely serve that purpose but I feel the website should tell people what its like so they can make that decision. Experience on the phone was difficult. I got hung up on twice mid-sentence because the person I was speaking to was busy, and no phone call back as promised. As I said, the field serves a purpose for a one night stop-over in a campervan and definitely consider it if youre looking for that. But from our experience its not the place for a holiday so just wanted to make other people aware. We were lucky to find availability elsewhere. The field was empty so perhaps this was obvious to others.
