This is a great route for walking. You can join by going over the motorway bridge by Otterbourne Hill and walk all the way through to Hursley where you can stop off in one of the nice pubs there. This walk goes beyond the Cranbury Estate and doesn't go too close to the house although you can see it along the way. This isn't great for dog walking unless you keep your pooch on the lead or it is very calm and not prey driven. There are a lot of ground nesting birds and geese so you need to stick to the pathway.

Unusually styled C18th country house, brick-built with stone dressings, pleasure grounds, rose garden, within vast estate. Open one day in June for the National Gardens Scheme with carriages and vintage prams in the yard, teas, well organised. House itself not open but lots to see including parts of Netley Abbey re-erected in the grounds.
