Firstly, your sales representative Malcolm Mallow was extremely misleading in how the installation process was to be carried out. It was made out to me to be a seamless and pain free exercise. This was certainly not the case. I was told by him that moving electrical sockets was no issue for your installation teams. When in reality this was absolutely an issue. I had to organise open reach to attend to relocate the telephone cable and a local aerial business to attend to relocate the TV aerial. This was at a cost to me of 50.
I also do not think it is my responsibility to bear in mind a cost upgrade in materials! If the wrong materials were not used in the first place you wouldn't have needed to purchase more materials. As the customer this entirely not my fault and I think it is unfair you have tried to put that cost implication on to myself.
You could have kept the cost of labour down if you had sent the more experienced installation team to begin with. The first team, Adam and Matt are responsible for removing the architrave around my living room bay window which was an original feature and did not need removing. If they had been careful in the removal of the old windows and the box sash the original architrave could have been kept intact. This would have meant less labour and materials needed to rectify the mess they left and that I would still have the original feature in my home.
The installation was booked in with me to take place over two days. In total I had installation teams in my home for seven days spread across three weeks. This is a stark difference to the experience I was expecting. When you've instructed a professional company to carry out this level of work you, you expect to have a hassle-free experience especially when you are paying a lot of money. However, the experience I have had has been anything but hassle-free. It caused extra stress, disruption, and mess in my home.
