I stayed here while walking the Hadrian's Wall path. Fantastic setting beside the river, but the hotel itself looking a little tired in places. That said, I had a great evening meal and a substantial breakfast, and all the staff I met couldn't do enough to help. In particular, the barman in the evening who looks like a young Bernard Bresslaw quite possibly the most attentive and gifted staff member I've ever come across. Give that man a pay rise. Walkability: Right on the Hadrian's Wall path.
