Nikki Warrington Flute & Singing Teacher

Nikki is an astonishingly talented lady with a real passion for music and teaching. She is also the most kind hearted and welcoming person. I learnt and progressed with my singing so much in my year with her and had too many laughs to count. I would HIGHLY recommend her to everyone!

Nikki has been one of the most influential and inspirational teachers I have ever had. I was taught by Nikki for a total of five years, in which time I went from being a beginner in both Flute and Singing to achieving a distinction in my Grade 8 Singing and a distinction in my Flute Diploma. As a teacher, Nikki not only focussed on the basics of flute playing and singing, but she also aimed to expand my wider musical knowledge, as well as providing unwavering support and amazing knowledge of the industry when I was going through my applications for music conservatoire. Nikki gave up a huge amount of her own free time to run two flute ensembles which I was a part of, which have achieved both regional and national success. She is invested in your wider musical experience and making sure that people who might not have access to such ensembles and choirs at their respective schools, receive the same experience wherever possible. I dont know many other teachers who would do this much work, which is unpaid, in order to provide these experiences for their students. She not only goes the extra mile by running these groups, but she educates you in high-class ensemble skills, working in detail on leading an ensemble, intonation, rhythm and dynamics which are skills to be taken across your whole musical career, not just your flute or singing. In individual lessons Nikki was always incredibly well organised, knowing exactly where all her students were, in terms of their progress and which specific pieces they were studying. This may not seem like much on the surface, but when someone has many students, both privately and across several different schools, this is amazing. In addition, Nikki always seems to be able to diagnose what an individual needs to work on with their playing or singing, as well as spotting pieces and songs which would suit their personality and interests, whilst still occasionally pushing you out of your comfort zone. I would not hesitate to recommend Nikki as a teacher to anyone. Without Nikki I would definitely not be the musician, or person, I am today.

Not only Nikki is a fantastically talented teacher but she's a wonderful lady too... My daughter has been to Nikki for her singing for years and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others
