I tried to use these to buy an auction flat (i.e. time is of the essence). I had unknowingly used a conveyancing broker - SAM Conveyancing. The first solicitor declined me because I live overseas, and SAM assured me that the second solicitor would be fine. I received nothing other than an instruction to download their app and complete a 90+ question form . I could not complete it because 1. I don't have a UK postcode 2. Nor does my husband 3. I don't have a UK phone number 4. Nor does my husband 5. My husband does not have a national insurance number In addition, they already had most of the answers. But don't worry, I'll complete your form for you .. I emailed them...no response. So, the next day, I sent messages via the app...no response. Two days later, I called them....no answer. So I cancelled and got a competent solicitor. It's a shame that everything now is meant to fit the mould. These apps and questionnaires are automated, reducing work for lawyers (i.e. not pre-filling any information they already had) yet fees don't decrease. If a client doesn't fit your standard mould, don't take them on.

really hard to get through to and very slow on the email response. Inadequate.
