Be very careful before taking this guy on to do any work. As requested I paid a deposit by bank transfer. During the work I questioned an aspect with regard to positioning. We had a disagreement but I accepted his explanation. In order to complete the work he wanted a further payment, as he clearly didn't trust me, but he guaranteed the work would be completed to my satisfaction. However it isn't. The job has been left messy and slapdash. He is now acting totally unprofessional by refusing to talk with me. He ignores texts, emails and phone calls. Unresponsive and unprofessional, as detailed in an earlier review. I would be very wary in trusting Steve. Service: Wood fence installation

Steve took on a difficult job and made it look easy! Nothing phased him and he always arrived on time and cheerful, ready to work. He was mindful of the budget and suggested options along the way. Comes highly recommended! Some nice gravel and plants will finish it of a treat.

Asked Steve for a quote for fencing approx 40ft, came around fairly quick all was good. He then done a few calculations on a scrap of paper and came up with a price then asked for 400 deposit despite not giving me a written estimate with the work he was quoting for or a date for the work to be done. Steve insisted on the money and was very quick to invoice for the deposit, yet promised to send a statement of works / quote , a month later nothing and has not been in contact since! Steve should realise trust is a two way street and all too often you hear of builders taking deposits never to be seen again. I could hand over 400 and have no written evidence of what this is for except "fencing" or a date for work to commence. As an opposite example, Walkers Timber on the other hand provided the written quotation a few days later detailing the date and description for work to be done and materials as a proper business should. It should not be too much too ask for, especially when we found Steve off the internet, don't know him from Adam, yet wanted 400 paid into his account and would not take a credit card payment which would of offered some consumer protection. I'm sure Steve does great fencing but needs to be more professional and appreciate trust is a 2 way street and not just him stipulating the conditions for his own benefit.

Steve has installed fences along both sides of our garden. He offered excellent advice on the best product for our needs. He was honest with his costing and did an excellent job within our budget. He was courteous and cleaned up efficiently before leaving. He communicated well with neighbours to ensure all parties knew what was going on. Steve also ensured he left a hedgehog gap in the fences to let our hedghogs move between gardens still. An excellent service and highly recommended.
