F & R were recommended to me by a friend (a skilled mechanic and former bike shop owner) and since then I've been here for work on precision custom car components (milling down and repairing big Porsche brakes from a 911 to fit a 1990 VW Scirocco on a much smaller brake disc, and removing siezed bleed nipples), and remedial works to replace failed parts on a suspension bike and improve upon original manufacturer design (custom stainless pivot bolt with hex - head to replace a failed / stripped thread alumium one with an allen bolt fitting that had rounded on a discontinued bike frame with no availability of original parts) - absolutely perfect each time with attention to detail, perfect fit and reasonably priced also. If I have a requirement for engineering works beyond my skillset, this is where I go to, and I know the work will be done to a very high quality. I thought the bike frame in particular was done for and I'd be looking for a new frame and spending the 1000 or so to replace... 40 to F&R for chasing out the threads on the frame and a custom made stainless pivot bolt and 6 months later with 40+ hours riding it's still going strong, and I've no reason to think this won't be the case for years to come. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others; I don't ask for a price before work, as I know it will be fair price for the workmanship and expertise involved and worth every penny. And I don't often write reviews.
