The Ark Church in Huddersfield is a truly "spirit-filled" church which is grounded in sound theology, solid as a rock! They have the balance just right in my opinion (an opinion of mine based on just over 18 months experience). It is a very welcoming church and really cherishes all that is family, whether you have a family of your own or you have no family and are seeking to be part of one, look no further, they will welcome you with a big hug and you soon get to know the names of the lovely folk there because they will want to know you. Everything they do, whether an event, children's activities, or simply a sermon topic, is thought through with much tender loving care and focused organisation, yet they make it all look so easy. It is an "intelligent" church, "creative" too, and allows for each member to bring their supply to the table so to speak. It doesn't matter to them if you have been going to that church for over 10 years or just popped by for the first time, everyone is valued equally and that (I believe) is what Jesus would want. But make no mistake they are not foolish, they are strong on scripture and family means everything to them and they will really jealously guard their members from the world of lies and deception. You really are in safe hands with them. Words I would use to describe them is "dynamic" and "adaptive", yet remaining "forever true" to the pure Gospel message. It is a church that is very exciting! it has a pulse! It's alive! and It is certainly not a church that is "lukewarm!", oh no, expect prophetic words of encouragement, vibrant testimonies, heartfelt testimonies, honest testimonies, meaningful songs (even some written in-house by their talented song-writers which makes their praise very special) and lots and lots of hospitality! It is a lovely church family and it is a church that I believe is the nearest thing I've ever come across to what it looks like in the book of Acts. This church is all about the HEART.
