I had a dreadful experience with this company. The work received was late, and incorrect, as well as very expensive. Shambolic accounts system, with unpaid fee invoices left for several years resulting in huge amounts of time being wasted. The level of service is not reflected in the excessive fees charged for the range of professional services. We very much regret instructing this company to act for us.

I went to JH for accounting advice after my Dad passed and I was anxious about receiving additional overseas income from my inheritance. I was quoted 750 for the first year and 600 thereafter. Due to a resignation within the company and various issues, I didn't receive the advice I'd requested and instead JH just decided to complete two personal tax returns. This took up a lot of my time and was not at all smooth-sailing. HMRC sent me a letter notifying me that I did not in fact need to file in the future - this was expected as I had not received any inheritance yet and so didn't need to be concerned about the additional income. The worst part was when the bill arrived - it was for 1800 - JH had decided to bill me per return. I paid 1400 under protest and am having to take them to the small claims court to try and resolve the issue. I challenge anyone to find an accounting service that charges 600-750 for an individual tax return. In their refusal of my claim JH said that their rates as a mid-tier accountancy firm are competitive... yeah, right.
