We stayed for 2 nights, we were very happy with our experience. Very well furnished, high standard accommodation. We liked the check in with no need to meet anyone, all details are sent before arrival. Lovely relaxing break we would definitely recommend a visit to the gardens Houghton Garden Lodge, absolutely beautiful. Lovely pub just tem minutes walk away The Boot Inn, gorgeous garden on the river test, food was excellent. Must stop in the village shops at Stockbridge. Lovely little place.

We had a weekend break in the Apple Rooms and our room was Barnack Beauty, a superb self catering room. The rooms looked incredibly inviting with bright sunlight streaming through the windows and fresh flowers on the table. We unloaded the car before walking to the tea room for a coffee. It was delightful sitting outside in Houghton Lodge's walled garden, enjoy the sun and the silence. As we were guests we didn't need to rush as we had access to the walled garden after opening hours so after coffee we walked through the formal garden and onto the lawns. These have always been my favourite feature of Houghton Lodge on every visit, the lines of the lawn cutting leading the eye towards the sculpted silhouette of the house. The rooms were quiet, warm and clean. The information pack gave some useful ideas for eating, including home delivery for these delightful covid times. Wifi speeds were reasonable, certainly for email and browsing. Parking was just outside the lodge and the location allowed us to visit several NT properties over the weekend and then have breakfast and evening walks around Houghton Lodge gardens and grounds. There were also tables and chairs outside so we spent one evening (until the April weather was too chilly!) sat outside and enjoying the sunset. A fantastic break in lovely accomodation and setting, thoroughly recommended.
