        My father first used to walk to this pub from Bury, that must have been in the 1920s, and he always rated this well before Google was even a dream. We have through the centuries continued to drop in when passing, it has never ever ceased to satisfy. Our latest visit just reinforced what we knew. Excellent, extensive Plowmans that would have certainly satisfied a hard working plowman of the 1920s, the affogato was good too friendly and attentive staff and a calm relaxed atmosphere made for another memorable visit. May the George & Dragon continue to please for at least the next century!
