The Old Calf Shed

Exceptional little cafe! We (family of four), stopped off on our journey from Cornwall to London. Really lovely and warm inside. All the staff were so very friendly and helpful. We had various cooked breakfasts, all of which were superb and great value, in my opinion. Such a great find, well definitely be stopping again and highly recommend it. Useful to know, is its part of the Jordon Courtyard complex and signs just say cafe. I had to check Id come to the right place!

The first time we went for breakfast, the coffee was great really nice blend and the orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. The breakfast arrived and it was Luke warm, I dont understand how that can happen, nothing on the plate was piping hot. The next time we went there was nothing on offer in the cake section for GF, in this day and age that is very poor. There was a coleslaw next to the cakes that was not covered. As a food provider I will not be eating there in the foreseeable future. There is also a service charge added. Dietary restrictions: Nothing on offer in the cake section for GF.

Beautiful cafe, inside and out. Food and drinks were delicious. Staff were professional as well as lovely . Most importantly it was dog friendly.

Lovely setting, Adam an exceptional asset to the place. Small things let this place down, frozen butter with bread that cant be spread. I ordered a cod dish and was given trout without being asked if this replacement was ok. Certain garnishes not listed on menu so found out the hard way when the meal come out drizzled in a garnish that I cant stand. I also dont like the fact a 10% service charge is added, this should be the customers decision. Usually eat here 4 times a week with a friend but will be shopping around now.
