This is a great shop. Definitely my preferred supermarket. However, and it's a big however: the archaic parking process and glacial speed the parking machines work at has finally become too much for me and I'm going back to Sainsbury's - despite preferring Waitrose. Today's visit was the last straw. The shop and carpark were at low capacity, yet there was a 5 person queue at the carpark machine, and each transaction was taking 2 to 3 minutes. Incredible job Waitrose. You've put all the effort into creating the best shop and products, but are losing a customer because your parking system is too painful to tolerate. Two ladies in the queue were also complaining of this. What a shame. Let me know if you ever rectify this disappointing system. A photo of a queue at a parking machine. The fact I am even photographing this and writing such a review is depressing in itself.

Why does the cafe exist? Its either understaffed or not staffed. This Sunday I went in with my daughter for brunch at 12pm to be informed very brusquely by a member of staff that they only served hot food until 11:30. This, despite the board above her head advertising Breakfast and Brunch. Brunch by definition does not end at 11:30. Either do not advertise what you do not offer or educate your obviously under trained staff what the terms advertised mean. Probably worth thinking about scrapping the cafe and expanding the shop into the space.

Everything you'd expect with a John Lewis attached. Lots of parking make sure to get a ticket. Great bakery, wine bar, cafe, flowers and homeware. Friendly staff and spacious.
