We have used Kearl Construction for a number of large projects over the years. The work has historically been of high quality, if a little slow. Kearl Construction more recently has grown quite rapidly and Ken is now very reliant on a vast number of sub-contractors to compete his jobs. On a recent project (loft extension & full new roof) it became apparent very quickly that Ken is unable to manage his business effectively, was rarely on site, and there were stark quality issues with a number of his sub-contractors. This resulted in several major issues: numerous leaks from the new roof and plumbing, dangerous works on the roof with tiles being stuck down by caulk and therefore falling off onto the patio below, delays, sub standard finishes etc. The crux of the issues were on the re-roof, where we had to appoint an independent surveyor who described the work as dangerous, not fit for purpose, and some of the worst roofing they had seen In their 35 year career. Had Ken managed this project correctly he wouldve seen these issues during the process before access was removed and the works were deemed complete. When we started getting major leaks and tiles falling from the roof, Ken offered to send his roofer back to sort out the issues but the surveyor advised us against using this roofer again due to severity/dangerous nature of his works. We therefore incurred a further six months delays, material water damage to our property from the leaking new roof, and a further 15k of extra costs to put Kens works right. Ken now ignores our calls and emails as we attempt to recoup our financial losses due to his negligence. I would urge you to review the photos of what he deems acceptable standards of work before considering whether to employ his services.

Many delays through our house build. Nearly a year late he did not complete the project or the long list of snags causing further delays, extra costs and a lot of stress. Such a shame!
