Mantles Fish & Chips

Went to this chippy in March 2023. I haven't used this chippy for a few years I usually go to the chippy at Spilsby. Not happy with Mantles at all. I brought 4 fish n chips, what a rip off. For the price I didn't get a lot of chips and the fish were the smallest I've ever seen. And greasy, never had fish n chips as greasy as that before, the fish was tasteless. In future if passing through Horncastle I'd rather drive the extra miles and go to the chippy at Spilsby, more chips for my money, better haddock and no grease. Mantles menu needs a HEALTH WARNING beware you will get lots of grease not good for your health.

I thought id try this chip shop again the last time I had any chips from here was about 2-3 years ago at horncastle christmas market and they were not great then and they aren't great now nothing has changed, greasy chips not sure if they use old oil or different potatoes or something. I only came today to try them since the mermaid chip shop is having some work at the moment. Sorry to say but this chip shop is for those that are passing through or waiting for a bus, the locals use to go to mermaid buts that's not great now either so no decent fish and chip shops here, It's a shame as when I first moved to the area mantles was good it's just got worse and never redeemed itself.
