Emma was so helpful and made my daughter feel at ease as she was very nervous and did not know what to expect. The test was very thorough but Emma made my daughter feel very relaxed. The report we received was very informative and give us points to discuss with the school and practices to implement both at school and with home learning. I feel that this is now a weight off our mind and we can move forward giving the help our daughter needs. Thank you Emma and we appreciate your ongoing support

Emma of Dyslexia Rochdale has been really helpful and professional. Our teenage daughter was at ease and felt supported throughout the whole process. Emma is experienced, knowledgeable and extremely supportive in her approach. The report is detailed and very helpful with great recommendations and interventions to support our daughter throughout college and then when she goes onto university. Dyslexia Rochdale offers a great service, to which I would recommend to anybody, thank you Emma.

For some time, we had observed our seven-year-old daughter struggle with spellings, despite her best efforts at practising spellings set by school each week with support. We began to wonder what we could do to close these gaps in her phonological awareness and applying the correct sounds to words, if we could, or what it could be that was causing the spelling errors. After a little research online, we stumbled across Emma on a social media site when posting a generic question in an attempt to find support. Emma offered advice. Despite having her own business, there was no hard sale. Emma was genuinely happy to offer support and answered lots of questions before we decided to go ahead with the assessment. As a family, we felt a little anxious initially about the assessment and how our daughter would cope with such an intense screening. We need not have worried. Emma offered to book in lots of sessions and do a little and often approach to see how our daughter would cope. Additionally, Emma rang our daughter the night before our first meeting on a videocall so she could say hello to put her at ease. On the morning of the initial assessment, our daughter felt scared but by the afternoon when it was time to go home, she was wondering when she would be back because it had been so much fun! Emmas approach to the whole family is very nurturing and we are so glad we found Emma because she has helped so much in understanding, explaining and reporting on what we as parents need to do as well as what school needs to do to ensure our daughter reaches her full potential. The recommendations Emma has put into place will only make our journey easier and we are glad Emma was there to guide us through the process and even more delighted she remains there as a soundboard to talk things through when we hit a stumbling block! Emma is passionate about her role and it feels like we have made a friend rather than found an assessor.
