Always ask for a fresh cut... not always whats on display is in fresh condition specially beef cut. No dry age beef is sold here unfornately, for the price one would expect dry age but its not... the sausage thats made by them doesn't have a lot a flavour to it, the service is a hit and miss not the best also depending on the person serving... for all of that only a 3 out of 5.

Used Graves as frequently as my vegetarian wife allows and always been impressed. Never bought their sausages but heard they are excellent - so when I saw them on a local pubs menu, I ordered them. They were horrible. Dry, solid lumps of congealed stodge. However it wasn't until I got home when I realised why they were like this. It was because they had been cooked the day before (or two or three days before) and then reheated in a microwave. If Graves reads this, perhaps an instruction can go out to all the pubs they supply suggesting that their sausages are only sold freshly cooked - as otherwise Graves is going to loose their excellent reputation.

Bought an expensive piece of bone-in rib for Sunday lunch The butcher showed me the piece prior to me buying, but only the side which had been on display. He did not show the other side, which contained a huge and revolting layer of gristle. As it was too late to return by the time I discovered this we cooked it anyway. It was tough, tasteless, and in a word, revolting. I do not understand the business model of such people, would it not be more lucrative for him to sell quality meat, and have customers return frequently.? .
