Surprisingly Good & Much Improved! The Heathfield Inn is a 3 Star Hotel and dates from the 16th Century. It has a huge thatched roof and is on the Western edge of Honiton just off the A375 Sidmouth Road. It has a substantial Car Park despite a modern Housing Estate having encroached on all sides. We live less than a mile from The Heathfield Inn but had not visited it for a few years as previously the Service was poor and the building always very cold and unwelcoming. Having heard that this Business was improving under new Management we visited for lunch on a beautiful Spring day. We were asked where we wanted to sit and chose the comfortable Dining Area. The bar area is large, with plenty of tables and a wide range of Beers on offer. The very good pint of Tribute, a friendly Manager, prompt Service, good quality reasonably priced food in good portions and served piping hot, were all surprisingly good and a real improvement over the previous owners. Welcome Back to the Heathfield, will be visiting again soon!

Food & drinks: We booked for Sunday lunch. The restaurant whad a few other customers but was not busy. The beer was v good but the gammon and beef were colourless and tasteless. Both meats were sliced paper thin. The broccoli and other veg were overcooked. The additional cauli cheese was ok. 4/10 for quality and taste. Definitely quantity over quality. We will return for drinks and quiz night, but won't be eating there again
