Manor House Hotel

Stopped here for lunch, served by a highly miserable middle aged woman with curly hair behind the bar. Can see from a few other reviews here she's been grumpy longstanding. Full of eye rolls and sighs when serving us at the bar when we were ordering food as if us ordering food in a restaurant was too much hassle for her. Also food overpriced and tasted naff so wouldn't bother going here unless you want to be met with a face of misery and pay your monthly salary on a flatbread with some chicken on top.

Food was nice but overpriced for what we got. However, our main problem was with the service from a particular member of staff. The older barmaid/waitress behind the bar taking our order was very rude and impatient with us. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait on food which was not a problem; a lot of our group have worked in hospitality so understand it can be busy. We asked if we were able to pay separately but the woman was very abrupt with her answer and impatient as if we were bothering her by asking too many questions. My mum then went to look at the menu again to which the woman gave a big eye roll and a sigh as if we were bothering her and taking too long to order. After a lovely holiday away in Scotland and a long car journey to stop off in Holy Island this is not what we wanted. There was no need for the rudeness and no one in the group wants to return back there again.
