Excellent accommodation in a fantastic part of the country. The Barn is the ideal place to go if you like the outdoors, like walking, like photography or just want to get away from the rat-race for a few days. It's easy to find - follow the B6277 from the A66 until you get to Middleton-in-Teesdale then bear off to the left following the southern bank of the Tees, drive for about 3 miles and stop when you get to the Strathmore Arms pub - the Barn is the building opposite the pub - result! The Barn boasts 3 comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large comfortable loung/diner and a kitchen with breakfast table. The kitchen if fitted with the usual white goods so you can eat, drink and be merry without any problem - you can even use the washing machine and drier. Outside is a rear garden with steam which is accessed via double patio doors, from the kitchen. At the front you are straight on to the road - but don't worry about traffic and traffic noise - you won't see or hear much at all. It gets very quiet in upper Teesdale! Depending on your interests there are lots to do - plenty of local walking, (you can visit High and Low Force waterfalls), take your camera - or mobile and snap away to your hearts content - plenty of wildlife and birds and lovely scenery. I would thoroughly recommend the Barn and the area around it but don't take my word - give Alan Kitchener a ring and make a booking. Oh and by the way - the pub's pretty good as well!
