I have not visited yet, but I wanted to drop a note. My wife's uncle was killed on June 2nd, 1944, flying a B-24 out of this base. He was shot down over France. His name was Donald H. Bruening.

Amazing place. Full of history about the bomber groups that were here. Americans came here to fight for our freedom. Will go again volunteers amazing. Thanks for your time.

We attended the Sunday Remembrance Day Service and watched the flyby that dropped poppies over the memorial site.
