Holsworthy Post Office

I have been using Holsworthy Post Office to send parcels for my online business for the past two months, and its been a very uncomfortable experience at times. Most of the staff are lovely and helpful, but there is one member of staff who tends to make things unnecessarily difficult and stressful for customers, time and time again. For example, today (17 November 2022, around 11 am), a customer asked this employee for the measurements of a parcel envelope off the shelf, so she could know if it was large enough for the contents. Rather than help her find out the measurements (which as part of the post office stock, the post office should know), she said (illogically) it depends what you want to put in there, and so you want to measure it do you? Refusing to answer her question, in a dismissive tone of voice, until the customer ran out the shop in distress, accidentally knocking over stock from the shelves. Rather than come out and pick up the stock, this employee left me to do it, moving over to a problem on her colleagues desk, and began illogically frustrating the other customer by not answering her question. When I became frustrated that she was no longer serving me (as I was clearing up her post office floor!), I asked her if she could please deal with my parcel. She then started a demeaning diatribe about the fact that she sometimes had to assist her colleague; however this went on for much longer than it would have taken her to process my parcel. I complained that it was unnecessary to berate me in front of the queue of people waiting. This is not the first time this employee has behaved like this to me or in my presence. She totally blundered when I needed to send a parcel to Ireland and literally told me, the answer to my question (i.e., what forms are needed), was its above my pay grade and you should go home and look it up on the Government website. My partner also runs an online business, but he now takes all his parcels to Bude, and I shall be doing the same. In general, this employee and the lack of willingness to help customers solve problems creates a negative, frustrating, unpleasant and stressful environment. Holsworthy obviously needs a reliable Post Office, but I cant recommend this branch for business owners, or anyone who needs anything more than a very basic service.

I dont normally write reviews but the staff at this post office couldnt have been more friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgeable which saved me a lot time and money. Many thanks
