Went in for lunch on a Tuesday, very quiet, good selection of drinks at the bar. Ordered the fish of the day for my wife and steak and stout pie for myself. The fish was salmon, beautifully cooked but accompanying veg contained too much oil. The steak and stout pie with chunky chips was disappointing, more of a veg and gravy pie with just four pieces of steak, rather fatty pieces. Considering the price I was expecting better and have had better meals at a much lower cost.

A very, cosy pub. Good airy yet comfy feel to it. Friendly staff. Didn't try food on this visit but will go back and sample the menu. Car park opposite the pub. Outdoor seating located by road. Also, claims to have luxury rooms so a stay visit would be great! Great location to the moors. Pub has own car park.

We booked a table for a bank holiday Monday treat. On the whole it was very pleasant meal. I never write reviews for anywhere as Im not really that type of person, but feel I need to on this occasion. I was mostly pleased with my food, BUT if you do go to the pub for food DO NOT order the hot smoked salmon starter! It is basically a bowl of crme fraiche with 2 flakes (honestly about 5-10g of salmon flake) on top. For 9 I thought that was a nasty way to open the meal and feel they either need to take it off the menu completely or present the customer with at least a little bit more salmon. I enjoyed my main (beef and stout pie) but I was genuinely confused with my starter. Hopefully they may see this and look at the dish and whether they can afford to give a little bit more of the main attraction to paying customers.
