Park at Holford Green Car Park and head up the track closest to the car park about 1/4 mile heading towards the Round House and go through the gate of the SSSI. Walk on for about 100m and the stream will appear to the right. This is a great spot to bring the kids for a good woodland walk/ picnic and splash in the stream. No BBQ's allowed due to the dry nature of the area.If you continue up the valley this will take you up onto the Quantocks. Top Tip 1. Get there early at the weekend.Holford Green Car park fills up quickly especially as it's free!. The car park is also really well shaded for those hot days. Top Tip 2. There are no facilities so come prepared. Top Tip 3. Wellies essential for the stream as the stones are fairly sharp. It also gets quite boggy in areas close to the stream. Top Tip 4.. STOP take a break and just listen to the birds and spot dragonflies.

A great day's walk up through Holford village into the woods and on up the hill, following the stream to a clearing. On again to another clearing for lunch before heading back down. There's a nice waterfall in Holford Glen that you can't get to, although a nice bridge over the top at least lets you see it. Finish off your day with a cold drink in the Plough.
