This is a bit of a joke. NHS expects pharmacies to be first points of contact for mild problems, however, here you have to tell your full private story with 6 people breathing at your back, stampeding at the counter, waiting for a jab or god only knows what.

My experiences are ok. Generally I don't have a problem with the service. I will request medication on a Monday. I have to phone and ask for it again on a Wednesday or Thursday I am usually told I should have ordered before and have to remind them I had ordered before. I never see any medication until the Friday. I'm seriously considering changing which Pharmacy I use.

Whilst waiting for my prescription, I dared to mention how beneficial I had found having an NHS prepayment card was to a young lady paying for 6 prescriptions (& paying just under 60). The pharmacist then launched a tirade at me which lasted quite some time, saying they are experts & I should keep to my own business. (JFYI - 3 months prepayment card costs 30 & could have been done online there & then - and would mean free prescriptions for this period - a year one costs ~108) This also greatly shocked the young lady, who after leaving, waited for me outside to offer thanks (& a totally unnecessary from her, apology) Exactly the sort of experience one needs from the chemist closest to Great Ormond Street Hospital!

I was appalled at the level of rudeness I received today from the chemist himself an d his colleague with short dark hair on the till. I use this chemist to collect my prescriptions regularly and all but one member of staff are never very friendly at the best of times . I ring to request my prescription they tell me its ready to collect, I go in to collect it and it never seems to be the right time of day for them, I am always asked to come back, 20-30mins later usually it's not too much of a problem for me but don't really understand why. Today I called in to collect, the woman at till couldn't even look at me and said come back in an hour, she really does lack social skills . I said can I sit and wait as I was in pain and couldn't do much walking she said no I would have to come back I am a pensioner disabled and this is a 15 min walk for me, they said it was lunch time they were far too busy, they hadn't had a lunch break, don't come between 12 and 2 for your prescription. I said I have never been told this and the chemist answered well you have now. I was then given, well almost thrown my prescription that was already bagged up and ready to go. Took him less than a minute.
