(Translated by Google) Room cleanliness was average. No toilet brush, no creams, just two small bottles. Wifi does not work well. Rooms quite run down and no USB outlets to charge devices. The breakfast is very basic. We wanted to have an afternoon tea but the staff, whom we had trouble understanding, told us that it was necessary to make a reservation, although it is nowhere mentioned that a reservation is necessary. Neither good nor bad, we will keep an ephemeral memory of our passage.

Pros Location is excellent and walking distance to train stations, the West End, Kings Cross, Tube lines etc. The rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard. Housekeeping was prompt and professional. Wifi worked well. Cons Reception really havent a clue. One couldnt use a keyboard on the PC. Check in took 20 mins without there being a queue. Check out took too long also. The floorboards were creaky. Theres a big gap between the floor and the door meaning the light from the corridor will enter your room. Virtually no sound proofing. You can hear everything in the corridor and from nearby rooms, as you would if you were living in a house. A bizarre humming sound and a loud click happens every hour or so. It might be the automatic water heater or something, and woke me up continuously through the night. The windows are single glazed and not soundproofed. Expect noise from outside particularly if, like me, the old man at reception puts you in a room facing the A40. Just two USB sockets, neither of which worked. Overall A recently refurbished hotel in a great location, but rooms are rickety and have the typical issues associated with old period properties, let down further by diabolical receptionists.
