As the family seat of the De Hoghtons for many centuries, there is tons of history regarding the family, the buildings and lands to learn about. We were very fortunate to be led through this fascinating history by one of Hoghton Tower's able tour guides, Alan. His enthusiasm and knowledge were very evident, such that the 90 minute tour flew past. Our visit was blighted by bad weather so didn't venture into the gardens, but plan to visit again on a better day. We were treated to brief chat with Sir Bernard just before we left. He and his wife are a very visible part of life at Hoghton Tower. Highly worth a visit.

I took my daughter to Hoghton Tower for the event they had on for children called Hidden Kingdom! Where to start? The moment we arrived we were whisked away by the incredible actors into an immersive story where we were given missions to collect stars and chocolate coins! The effort and tiny details that were put into this event was like nothing else Ive ever encountered. 5 star!! There wasnt a time limit so we could have gone on all day, quest after quest!! The actors were just brilliant! Especially the Goblin who all the children found hilarious. Dont miss these events when they come to the tower. Its a must for all the family! Also we had an afternoon tea in the tea rooms which was delicious. All staff were 10 out of 10!
