The Bear Inn Hodnet

Fantastic three night stay at The Bear Inn. The most important part of hospitality is the staff and at The Bear Inn they were fantastic very friendly and extremely helpful. The food from the kitchen is superb and definitely deserves the 5 star reviews it regularly receives. The accommodation on offer is first class and the attention to detail and quality of the decor is up with the best you will find anywhere in the country. We considered our three nights stay fantastic value for money especially for the quality of everything they offer . We have already booked our next three night stay when we are back visiting family. The most amazing meal and excellent value for money. The staff were also incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the food they were serving. This was our first time eating here after recommendations from friends - it certainly didnt disappoint. We were there for lunch and we loved it so much we immediately booked for a large family group celebration for later on in the year.

Not that impressed with the 27 for two courses for lunch. I thought nouvelle cuisine had gone, but it continues here with over elaborate small portions. My coeliac wife ended up having a few chips as the flavours and textures were all wrong and the fish under cooked. Even the kids didn't want to eat the over fried chicken gougons and had to dissect them to eat them. Spoilt the day, albeit the beer was alright!
