Russell Needleman Opticians

A friend recommended me to Russell and I wouldn't go anywhere else now! Russell is extremely knowledgeable and actually LISTENED to my needs. I did a trial with contact lenses. Russell was extremely patient as I had a real issue with anything coming remotely near my eyes. The outcome, after months of perseverance and Russell's outstanding guidance and patience, I am now the proud wearer of multi-vocals contacts.The ladies in the shop are also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. A hidden gem in Hitchin that provides a personal and outstanding customer experience.

Both ladies behind the desk incredibly rude. I was running late for my sons appointment and called to explain, they explained it was fine as the optician didn't have another appointment until 5. I arrived at 4.22 to be told I wasn't allowed to be seen now even though they said it was OK on the phone. They were so dismissive and could see I rushed and was frantic when I arrived. When I said I thought the optician didn't have an appointment until 5 they said he had things in between (which was not said on the phone) I wouldn't have wasted my time. I went home with my son still with a swollen eye, they were not at all sensitive to my situation. Never will I use this opticians again, to be a customer and spoken to in such a way is terrible.

The senior citizen at reception is not only out of touch with customer service but also seemingly with the world. She had no idea what she was doing or saying, making up procedure as she was going along. But the most alarming statement she made was that this establishment is not governed by a recognised body. I'm sure she is wrong as not one word from her mouth made me feel like she knew what she was talking about but if what she said is true I would be alarmed for people who have used this place as it may end up on watchdog!

Having worn glasses all my life, and been to many opticians, Russell is by far the most expert, attentive and helpful. The staff who work alongside Russell are excellent and offer great service. Always ready to help and any problems have been resolved without issue. Top recommendation!
