Bought a rose called deep secret. It arrived half dead so I messaged Harkness and sent photos. They never bothered to respond and the rose died within a week of being planted besides my best efforts to keep it alive. Shocking.

Update to my review below. After complaining we had someone helpful at Harkness contact us and they resolved the issue. We now have the correct variety of rose in the right (red) colour. So have moved from 1 star to 3 stars. Original review. I'd like to give no stars. Dreadful customer service. We ordered 2 red roses so they sent a pink (different variety to the one ordered) and a red. We emailed them asking for it sorting out and we also called them to explain. We also offered photos but they said not needed. However, they couldn't just deal with the issue straight away (don't know why, it's not complicated) but said they'd be in touch. A few days later they wrote back misspelling our name and totally ignoring what we'd written. They replied as though we were complaining the rose wasn't pink and said "the roses were meant to be red not pink". We know that, it's the problem and what we'd said was wrong. We ordered Red and they sent a different variety which is pink. It's like some weird comedy. Fawlty Towers or The Office Really, really useless and clueless service.

We did not want to give any star FYI, for the roses and customer service that you deserve, go to David Austin instead :) We talked to Harkness Roses customer service just now over the phone regarding returning. From the very beginning, the tone of this customer service lady indicated that she was not at all keen to support or help. Anyway, after listening what help we need, she talked to her manager, informed us that the cost of shipping for returning the plant needs to be on our own. This response is absolutely the opposite of the returning policy on their website, which claims that the delivery cost of returning goods is on the company, all you need is to contact customer service. She responded that she was just passing what her manager told her and did not care to explain why it is contradicting. Therefore we asked if we could talk to her manager and she said that she we cannot because she was working from home and do not have direct line of her manager. She asked us to deal with this by sending an email to their general email address and someone will pick it up. Even though we said that the rose would than seating there and by the time this matter is dealt with it could have just died. Well, obviously no one else cares Also throughout the purchasing experience, we did not receive any confirmation from either their website or via email after we make the payment. We did not know that this transaction has gone through until one day the plant just showed up by our doorstep! The whole experience with this company, at least for us, was nothing but confusion and frustration.
