GeniePoint Charging Station

After 20mins to the call centre the only charge point was registered as 'at fault'.

If this is the one located at 'Morrisons' Hinckley, Then it is definitely faulty. CCS andCHademo are NOT working despite what the app says! Seriously though, this machine over the past year has had a HUGE number of failures, usually a phone call asking the company to reset it 'from their end' does the trick, but recently getting through has become difficult, you get a 'press one, press two Dalek' then nothing! NOT GOOD ENOUGH GENIE POINT! The next nearest one so far is at the shell petrol station at Nuneaton, this one is at present totally out of use as apparently it is being replaced??? It had however over 99% reliability, as has the one at Morrissons Lutterworth! The app often shows the Hinckley one as working, but when you get there you find that CHaDemo and CCS are "temporarily unavailable" you either drive to the Nuneaton site adding another twelve miles to your journey or in my case luckily I have a hybrid and can self charge, however this puts a big dent in the weekly mpg figures. I don't know what the problem is, but when I rub my lamp I want my 'Genie' to work! Local council's are rushing to install slow 7kw supply points locally, they don't however seem to understand what is needed, if you go into town and want a quick top up 7kw isn't enough! It has to be fast chargers. With 22kw (or more) (Narborough), you get a mile for 15 minutes! The car park in Narborough, opposite the brilliant Hi Tide fish and chips shop is a case in point, shared charge points, which give a reduced charge the more cars are plugged in. Who ever thought that up should be given a cabbage!The only thing these chargers are good for is charging bicycles! Anyway I hope this helps you and maybe kicks genie point into sorting out its charge point at Morrissons Hinckley! Maybe they should install a lamp, with instructions how to rub it during covid! Happy charging!! As of 27/09/2022 this machine has been out of use for 6mths plus! Genie point, you Don't deserve to remain in business, please get your act together!
