A shockingly bad company to deal with. Recently had them to move our gas meter, had no choice but to use them! Quality of work very poor and attitude of most staff is we are right and the customer is wrong. When ordering it took the person on the phone around 2 & half minutes to read the terms & conditions and then they said do you understand & except these ts & cs? Of course I didnt, nobody could. Pathetic!!

I had two recent interactions with Cadent. The first seemed positive with a friendly, knowledgeable and thorough engineer who carried out carbon monoxide tests throughout my home and inspected my boiler, giving it a clean bill of health, after it being referred to them by a smart meter installer. A month later, another referral by a smart meter installer but this engineer was everything the last wasn't. Rude, belligerent and lazy. No tests were carried out before he capped my boiler. The engineer wouldn't speak to me about what was being done or why,. The full inspection, diligently carried out by his colleague was ignored and he seemed genuinely affronted that i'd dare question "an engineer with 40 years experience". The final insult was his comment that he was "going to isolate the supply ifrom outside because i don't trust that you won't reactivate the boiler when I'm gone", something i have neither the knowledge nor inclination to do. I believe this was done purely out of spite as a punishment for questioning him. This action meant the heating engineer instructed to inspect / repair the boiler could do nothing without Cadent returning to re-connect the supply so i have another visit from them to look forward to. The treatment we received was appalling. Avoid if possible.

Very bad experience as they don't equip anyone anymore with telephones and still in 2022 blaming COVID excuse. Meaning you can't get things sorted and they drag on for over a year. They have very bad methods to estimate bills and don't take evidence in to account. It behaves as a shockingly bad monopoly company. If I were a director of this company I would be ashamed and embarrassed.
